In addition to the fulfilment of its statutory functions, the Board of Directors is also responsible for the overall direction, supervision and control of the group management. The Board issues policy guidelines and receives regular reports on the conduct of business.

The division of responsibilities between the Board of Directors, group management and divisional management is defined in the organizational rules. These are currently being revised.

Information and auditing measures applied to the group management are institutionalized as follows:

• Monthly and quarterly Management Information System reviews
• Meetings of the Board of Directors and meetings of the Committees of the Board of Directors
  (Strategy Committee, Audit Committee, Personnel Committee)
• External auditing (auditor's reports)
• Internal auditing
